The "Princes" Bride

You’ve always dreamed of the day your prince would come….and now he’s proposed and your planning for your “some enchanted evening”.

The sounds tugging at your heartstrings have become the familiar tune of “Money, Money, Money, Money”! with everyone wanting a piece of the royalties set aside for your Majestic Merger.

All the little extras offering added ambiance…also mean added costs forcing you to realize that your dreams are quickly becoming “delusions of grandeur”. Remember compromise is a part of every marriage…and your wedding day is a good place to start….and compromise doesn’t always mean sacrifice. So, consider the following to sort through the conflict and blend fantasy and reality.

· Set a realistic budget. Concur with your parents or your fiancé, discuss availability of resources, who will pay for what, and set attainable expectations for your Big Day. Decide which items are the most important to you, and work within your parameter. If food and entertainment are most important to you (and your guests), “splurge” on these items and cut corners somewhere else.

· Shop around and don't be afraid to bargain the price a bit.

· Look for less expensive items that create the same overall effect.

· Don’t sweat the small stuff. Enjoy your day and your love for one another. Your memories will last long after the roses (or mums) wither.
